How to Return Your Purchase

We will accept returns or correct any quality problems on all merchandise purchased from our Company. Upon verification that the merchandise was purchased from our Company, we will exchange, return or repair the merchandise as long as the merchandise is not defaced, is not without its original packaging and is not without the original UPC barcode.

Return Policy for Online and Shopping Service Purchases

Items purchased online or through our Shopping Service can be:

    • Returned through the mail to the address listed on your sales receipt/packing slip; or
    • Returned to the address on this return label:

Important Information For Mailing A Return:

When mailing a return, please include your original sales receipt/gift receipt or packing slip along with the merchandise being returned. Include a brief, written explanation regarding the reason for your return, along with your contact information. When we receive your return, we'll issue the refund based on the following criteria:

    • With a receipt: Returned items are refunded at the original purchase price, plus applicable sales tax, in the original method of payment.
    • With a gift receipt: Returned items are refunded at the original purchase price, plus applicable sales tax, in the form of a merchandise credit or a credit to your Bon-Ton Stores credit card. Cash or bank card credits are not permitted for returns with a gift receipt.
    • Without a receipt: Information from returns is kept in a database that the Company uses to validate returns.  We will accept non-receipted returns or exchanges if it meets all of the following conditions:
      • You have not been warned on a return in the past 365 day
      • This is your first return in the past 60 days and it is for less than $250
      • Merchandise is in salable condition, unworn, unwashed and unaltered
      •  
      • If the above criteria is met, returns without a receipt will be credited to your Boston Store credit card, or issued as an electronic merchandise credit. A merchandise credit or credit to your Boston Store credit card will be the only form of refund provided. If a merchandise credit is issued, you may use it only to purchase merchandise. It cannot be used as payment on your Boston Store credit card account. A merchandise credit cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. The refunded price will be the lowest offered selling price that the merchandise has ever been offered at. We reserve the right to decline a return without a receipt. Refunds or exchanges will not be given for Coach handbags and electronics without a receipt, regardless of all other factors.

Refund Of Shipping Charge For Online Or Shopping Service Orders

Delivery/shipping fees or gift wrap fees are non-refundable. Customers are responsible for the return postage. Unfortunately, we cannot refund original shipping charges unless an error occurred on our part when shipping your online order or Shopping Service order. If an item was damaged or sent in error, the shipping charge will be credited back to the customer's credit card account.

 

Tech Trek/Electronic Returns for Online or Shopping Service Purchases

Tech Trek/Electronic items must be accompanied with the original sales receipt, gift receipt, or packing slip and within 60 days of the original purchase to be returned or exchanged. Merchandise must be in its original condition with all accessories, manuals and packaging included.

Coach Handbag Return Policy for Online, Shopping Service or In-store Purchases
All returns and exchanges of an unused Coach handbag must be accompanied with the original sales receipt, gift receipt or packing slip within 90 days of the original purchase to receive a refund. Any defective Coach handbag may be returned or exchanged within 90 days of the original purchase for a refund to be given. After 90 days of original purchase, returns of defective Coach handbags ARE NOT ACCEPTED for refund or exchange. Repairs to Coach products are the responsibility of the customer. Repair information can be found at www.coach.com.

Swimwear, Intimate Apparel and Underwear Policy for Online or Shopping Service Purchases
Swimwear, Intimated Apparel and Underwear may be returned for exchange or a refund only if the merchandise packaging has not been opened, product has not been removed from original packaging, has not been worn, is not soiled, and has the original tags and labels attached. The Swimwear Security Liner must be in place on swimwear.

Dress Return Policy for Online or Shopping Service Purchases
Dresses may be returned for exchange or a refund only if they have not been worn or altered. Dresses must be returned with all the original tags still attached to the garment and the original sales receipt, gift receipt or packing slip is required. Returns must be made within 90 days of the original purchase date.

Shoe Return Policy for Online or Shopping Service Purchases
Shoes may be returned for exchange or refund only if they have not been worn or if they have a manufacturer’s defect. Returns must be made within 90 days of the original purchase date.

Fine Jewelry Returns and Fine Watch Returns for Online or Shopping Service Purchases
All Fine Jewelry and Fine Watch returns and exchanges must be accompanied with the original sale receipt, gift receipt or original packing slip if purchased online. The items must be returned within 60 days. Items MUST be returned to a store with a Fine Jewelry department, or if purchased online, to the location from which it was shipped.

    • All fine jewelry and fine watch returns and exchanges of items purchased from our website can be returned to one of our stores that carry fine jewelry.
    • If shipping, returns must be sent via UPS. Please use the label enclosed with your order.
    • The shipping charges will be deducted from your refund.
    • Returns must be made within 60 days of purchase.
    • Returns will not be accepted without the packing slip.
    • The security tag must be attached to the merchandise.
    • Watch returns must include the box and warranty.
    • For watch repair, refer to the vendor warranty for sending the watch to the vendor for repair.
    • Personalized or sized Fine Jewelry items cannot be returned unless damaged or defective.

Men's Suit Separates and Men's Tailored Clothing Returns for Online or Shopping Service Purchases:

Men's suit separates and Men's Men's suit separates and Men's tailored clothing items may be returned for exchange or refund only if they have not been altered or worn, and the original sales receipt, gift receipt or packing slip is required.. All original tags must still be attached to the garment at time of return.  Returns must be made within 90 days of the original purchase date.

Return Policy for In-Store Purchases

Items purchased in-store must be returned to one of our stores. These purchases cannot be returned to the address listed below. We reserve the right to decline any return for any reason.

    • With a receipt: Returned items are refunded at the original purchase price, plus applicable sales tax, in the original method of payment.  If a bank card was used for the purchase, it must be presented to credit the account.  Otherwise a merchandise credit or credit to your Boston Store credit card will be issued.  If a check was used as method of payment, cash will be refunded as long as 1 day has passed since the purchase date. In the event our POS system does not recognize the receipt barcode on a receipt, the customer is required to present approved valid ID to complete the return. The information will be stored in our companywide database of customer return activity that the company uses to authorize returns.  Types of receipts that may not be verifiable are:  Purchases made through our website, old or damaged receipt, the receipt information was used in a prior return or the receipt is missing the receipt barcode. These non-verifiable receipts will be treated as non-receipted returns.
    • With a gift receipt: Returned items are refunded at the original purchase price, plus applicable sales tax, in the form of a merchandise credit or a credit to your Bon-Ton credit card. Cash or bank card credits are not permitted for returns with a gift receipt.
    • Without a receipt: Returns without a receipt will be credited to your Bon-Ton credit card or issued as a merchandise credit. If you are issued a merchandise credit, it can only be used to purchase merchandise. It cannot be used as payment on your Bon-Ton credit card. A merchandise credit cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. A credit to a bank card will not be issued without a receipt.
    • We will accept non-receipted returns or exchanges if all of the following conditions are met:
      • A valid photo ID is presented. Information from your ID will be retained in our companywide database of customer return activity that the company uses to validate returns.
      • You have not been warned on a return in the past 365 days

    • Adjustments on Prior Purchases: If the merchandise is offered at a lower price within 7 days of the original purchase, a sale price adjustment will be given upon presentation of your original receipt. Yellow Dot, clearance, specified purchases or promotions are not eligible for price adjustments.

Swimwear, Intimate Apparel and Underwear Policy for In-Store Purchases for Online or Shopping Service Purchases
Swimwear, Intimated Apparel and Underwear may be returned for exchange or a refund only if the merchandise packaging has not been opened, product has not been removed from the original packaging, has not been worn, is not soiled, and has the original tags and labels attached. Fine Jewelry Returns for In-Store Purchases
Fine Jewelry may be returned or exchanged within 60 days of original purchase and accompanied with the original sales or gift receipt. The original security tag must still be attached to the merchandise. Fine Jewelry may be returned or exchanged ONLY to the original location of purchase or to another location that has Fine Jewelry. Watches must be in their original box and include warranty information.
