The irregular shape of the Griffith coffee table from Baxton Studios suggests the design was strongly influenced by furniture from the mid-1900s. The table is finished with basswood veneer and solid rubberwood legs, all of which are stained in wenge (dark brown) so deep that it appears black in most lighting conditions. Because the wood grain of the basswood veneer is uneven, the stain does not appear to be a uniform shade of brown.
